Things To Do

Morningside Estate is ocean front property located on the protected waters of Saanich Inlet. The famous Butchard Gardens can be reached by a little water taxi and is just minutes away. Many of our guests are charmed by a boat excursion on Saturday night to take in the spectacular fireworks at the gardens and then to escape the traffic mayhem by boarding the boat for a star filled night passage back to Morningside. Our commercial dock is a perfect launch for other exciting activities. Below are a few of our favorite things to do in the area.

Abkhazi Gardens

Abkhazi Gardens

The garden is very discreet from the street, with only hints of what exists beyond the hornbeam hedge. What the visitor does find is a garden that embraces a natural landscape that is unique to Victoria. The garden is blessed with dramatic glaciated rocky slopes, magnificent native Garry oaks and gorgeous vistas.

Hiking at Morningside

A Walk at Morningside

The Saanich inlet is the most southerly fjord on the west coast with it’s steep coastline it makes it impossible to hike along the waterfront. So if you wish to take a walk while you are staying At Morningside, you will need to go back up our driveway on to Rocky Mountain Rd take a right on to Aspen, the second left takes you on to a side road. If you pass the Winery on Aspen Rd you have gone too far. Once you are on this side road only take left handed turns and you will find yourself back on to Aspen Road continue until you reach Rocky Mountain Rd and wined your way back down the driveway back to Morningside.
